The Kronborg Castle is located in the city of Helsingør (Elsinore), in 37 kilometers to the north from Copenhagen. The castle is famous because of the Hamlet play by Shakespeare. In summer, the annual Shakespeare festival is held here. The statue of Holger the Dane - Carl the Great companion - is exhibited at the basement.
There are two types of tickets at the Kronborg museum: the Large (includes visiting of royal rooms, the ball-room, underground casemates and the chapel) and the Small (only casemates and the chapel). For children under 5 admission is free, children under 15 should be accompanied by adults.

This is our photoreview of the Kronborg Castle, which is the famous home of Shakespeare's Hamlet and a UNESCO site in Helsingør. Sweden right across the Sound and ferries run back and forth every 15 minutes. In and around the castle there are plenty of picnic areas. There are also cafes and playgrounds for children. It is possible to go swimming or even fishing right by the walls of the castle.
