From November 16, 2018 until January 15, 2019 the Paris Garden of Plants (Jor ardin des Plantes) holds its first Festival of Light - Espèces en voie d'illumination. The festival is dedicated to the efforts humans need to make in order to preserve wildlife. Every evening, from 18:00 until 23:00, the lights are lit on giant figures in the form of zebras, sharks, snakes, parrots and other inhabitants of the Earth, many of which have become extinct already, or are threatened with extinction.
To avoid queues, it is recommended to buy e-tickets on the official website of the show and print it out before visiting. Entrance closes at 22:00. The exhibition is closed on Christmas day (December 24).
