The Georgian State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography, or the Art Palace, is located in the Oldenburg's palace, which is itself an important tourist attraction of Tbilisi. A German Prince - Constantin Oldenburg - lived here with his wife Agrafena Japaridze in the second half of the XIX century. The building was designed by architect Paul Stern in an unusual style with the elements of Gothic and Islamic architecture.
The museum was founded in 1927. The exhibition includes collections of theater costumes, photographs, audio and video records, posters, pieces of scenery and much more, for example, drawings by Leon Bakst and Alexandre Benois. Manuscripts of famous actors and artists, such as Ilya Chavchavadze, Fyodor Chaliapin, Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov and others are exhibited here as well.
The Art Palace is located near the Marjanishvili Metro station.
