The museum was founded in 1916, it has been located at the Powder Tower since 1919. The exposition is dedicated to the history and formation of the Latvian Armed Forces, the First and Second World Wars, the Latvian Army, the Soviet occupation and the struggle for independence in 1918 and 1991. The museum has more than 25 000 exhibits. Guests can see a collection of weapons, photos, documents, medals and uniform.
