The Akershus fortress was built approximately in 1300 and has stood out in several sieges. Some of the Norwegian monarchs are buried in the fortress chapel.
The Norwegian Armed Forces Museum and the Norway Resistance Museum are located on the territory of the fortress.
Entrance to the fortress is free.
