The Art Museum houses a collection of European, ancient, and oriental art, collected by Galust Gulbenkian, who was a businessman. There is also a large collection of silverware of Russian tsar Nikolai II, ranging from small glasses and dessert spoons to huge sup cups with a double-headed eagle, a scepter and an orb.
