More than 2800 animals and more than 300 species live at the Singapore Zoo. There are no cages at the zoo - natural barriers such as moats and ditches are used instead. Conditions at the zoo are very close to wild nature. The park is divided into 8 theme zones.
Visitors of the zoo can attend such programmes as Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife, Elephants at Work and Play Show and night safari, visit the Rainforest Kidzworld - a children's town with merry-go-rounds, a pool, rabbits and ponies.
There is also a Fragile Forest exposition of untouched jungles with wood snakes, pythons, cobras, butterflies, koalas, kangaroos and other animals and the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia at the park.

The zoo is a part of tropical national wild nature park. It houses more than 2500 animals, 36% of them are under threat of extinction.
