Museum of the History of Madrid is located in the center of the city in the beautiful building of the Royal Shelter of San Fernando, built in the Baroque style.
The exposition includes models of urban development from the XVIth to the end of the XIXth century, the models of Madrid, Spain and the whole Europe. The model of old Madrid is complemented by an interactive screen. The entrance to the museum is free.
Also there are maps, photographs, postcards, objects of everyday life of different eras and a collection of portraits and busts of Spanish kings.
