Vasa is the world's only surviving sailing ship of the early 17th century. The ship was discovered in the 20th century, lifted from the sea bottom, renovated, and is now displayed at the Vasa museum, which keeps special climate conditions, optimal for the survival of the ship. Visitors of the museum can also see the skeletons of Vasa crew members, wax figures, a few guns, household items and personal belongings of officers, soldiers and sailors from the ship.
The museum has its own cinema hall, where movies about the discovery and history of Vasa are played in several languages (including English and Russian).
