Mount Vernon plantation house is located in 24 kilometers from Washington. Since 1960 it is considered a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can see the original furniture and belongings of the first president. He and his spouse were buried here, too.
The plantation includes a farm, a garden, utility rooms, stables, a park, and a part of a river. Washington had lived in this house for 45 years.
