The Rock Creek Park takes up over 700 acres of land in the heart of the US capital - Washington DC. The park was established in 1890 and is the home to the Smithsonian's National Zoo and the Rock Creek Park Nature Center. The park offers the following services for children and adults:
- educational programs,
- Summer concerts (blues, jazz, hip hop, poetry, etc.),
- Free phone tours,
- Miles and miles of trails for walking, bicycles and horseback riders,
- Horseback riding for children and adults at the Rock Creek Park Horse Center,
- Water kayaking and small sailboats,

- Tennis, golf, playgrounds for football and hockey,
- Picnic areas (with tables and benches).
Entry to the park is free, but some services require payment. The park is open year round during daylight hours.
