The Statue of Liberty is located in the Liberty Island in New York. One can get to the island only by a public ferry from the Ellis Island, from the Battery Park in Manhattan and from the Liberty State Park in Jersey City (private boats are not allowed to berth at the Liberty Island).
The base of the Statue of Liberty is open for the visitors. Online booking will help to avoid queues at the booking offices in the morning (tickets are not sold in the island).
One can visit the viewing platform located in the crown of the statue only if advance online booking had been made. It is possible to get to the platform only on foot - there is no elevator in the statue. Children under 4 and shorter than 1,2 meters are not allowed to enter the viewing platform, as well as persons of all ages who have health restraints.

Children under 4 can do not have to be payed for. The Liberty Island is open every day, the only exception is the 25th of December. Please check the working hours on the official website.
