The Music Institute of Northern Helsinki offers a general course in music education: from playing classes for toddlers to in-depth study of music (for teens from 16 years old). The course is divided into three main stages:

- music lessons for preschoolers;
- basic secondary music education - for children from 7 years old, the duration of studying is about 9 years. Each student specializes in a particular musical instrument (or vocal), and also performs in an ensemble and studies the theory of music;
- college level music education (duration is 4 years).
