The Amalienborg castle is an official residence of Danish Royal Family. Four rococo royal palaces, colonnade, a show ring, two private villas and a Marble Church form the Amalienborg architectural complex. Every day at 12:00 a ceremonial change of the Royal Guard takes place on the Amalienborg square.
In the Christian VIII palace guests can visit the the royal apartments of 1863-1947 and the heraldic hall where the genealogical tree of Danish kings is exhibited. The Amaliehavn garden with fountains and sculptures is located on the side of the harbour.
