The Copenhagen zoo is located in Fredericsberg suburb. It was opened in 1859. Visitors can see an Amur leopard, camels, tapirs, a Tasmanian devil as well as other animals and tropical birds at the zoo.
All the animals and birds live in theme zones: Asia, Tropics, the South America, Nature of the North, Africa and Children's Zoo with a playground and a petting zoo. In 2012 the Arctic Ring opened in the zoo. It is an underwater tunnel, where visitors can see polar bears and sea birds that dive in the pool searching for some food.
Provianten and Konnild's restaurants are located not far from the entrance to the zoo. For children under 3 admission is free. The zoo is open every day since 10:00. Please check the time of seasonal closing on the official website.
