The Abastumani Mountain Resort in Georgia

Abastumani is a low-mountain resort in Georgia, located in 28 km from Akhaltsikhe and in 78 kilometers to the Southwest of Borjomi. The resort is valued for its clean mountain air, pine forests, mineral springs and mild climate, suitable for people undergoing lung diseases therapy. There are sulfur baths, a few hotels, shops and cafes.

The main attractions are: the wooden house of the prince George Alexandrovich Romanov, the Saint Alexander Nevsky temple (New Zarzma) with wall paintings by Nesterov (a famous Russian artist), a funicular, and the Abastumani Observatory.
