Stepantsminda (former name is Kazbegi) is a town in Georgia, located close to the Russian border, in 165 km from Tbilisi and in 43 km from Vladikavkaz.

The town is situated next to the Kazbek Mount, and is valued mainly for its spectacular views of the ridge. In addition, there are springs and a pool with mineral water.

Stepantsminda is an attractive point for those who are keen on extreme sports: mountain climbing and rafting. At the same time a relaxing holiday with children can also be spent here. Many activities for families are available: cycling, horse riding, excursions to the glaciers, waterfalls and observation towers. There are hotels, restaurants, a vine store, and a museum in Stepantsminda.

The Holy Trinity church is located not far from Stepantsminda. It is possible to get to the city by bus from Tbilisi and Vladikavkaz. Taking a taxi is also an option.
