The National Maritime Museum in Haifa demonstrates the history of Mediterranean shipping. The museum presents more than 5000 years of history and marine archeology, allowing visitors to get a visual representation of ancient ships, the development of anchors, sea battles and navigation. In addition, the museum presents exhibitions about pirates, maritime art and the history of Jewish shipping.
Since its establishment, the National Maritime Museum has set itself the goal of presenting to the general public the marine history of the Mediterranean through fascinating stories and exhibits. The museum occupies a three-storey building with a total area of 2400 square meters, including a permanent exposition on two floors, temporary exhibitions, storerooms and offices.
The museum also hosts excursions, including access to the coast of the Haifa bay, as well as workshops for children and adults.
