Ķemeri Resort Park, A Historic Landscape in Jūrmala, Latvia 73
Established in 1839 by Riga gardener K.H. Vagner, Ķemeri Resort Park stands as one of Latvia's oldest and most significant landscape parks. Designed to complement the therapeutic sulfur springs that made Ķemeri a renowned health destination in the 18th century, the park features a harmonious blend of natural beauty and architectural elegance.
Visitors can explore a network of winding paths that meander through lush greenery, cross romantic bridges over the Versupīte River, and lead to charming pavilions and rotundas. The park's centerpiece, the Sulfur Water Pavilion, built at the turn of the 20th century, stands near the famous Kirzacina (Little Lizard) sulfur spring, one of Latvia's most popular.
In 1936, the construction of the Ķemeri Hotel introduced a symmetrical garden parterre adorned with lawns, flower plantations, and alleys, enhancing the park's appeal. Today, Ķemeri Resort Park offers a serene setting for leisurely walks, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in its rich history and natural charm.
The park also has a parking lot, a children's playground and a cafe.
