Aljafería is a medieval Islamic palace, which was constructed in the second half of the IX century.

It is the only fortress of that epoch that is preserved until today. Part of the complex is occupied by the Parliament, also there is a museum. Guided tours in Englishare available. Tourists can also visit the small picturesque garden inside the fortress - The Patio de Santa Isabel.
