The Royal Palace In Madrid is located on the banks of the Manzanares River and is surrounded by parks: The Campo del Moro Park, where The Carriage Museum is situated now, and The Sabatini Park. The main entrance to the palace is on the Armory Square.
There is also The Armory Exposition (with the free admission). On the first Wednesday of every month, a solemn change of guard takes place on the square.
The palace is rich in interior decoration. In addition to the collection of paintings and sculptures, from classical to modern, there is, for example, The Royal Pharmacy with an alchemical laboratory from the 17th century, as well as an exposition of musical instruments.
Audio guides with interactive screens are available in English. There is a fee for entering the palace, but admittance to the gardens is free.
