The Waddesdon Manor was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885. The manor was designed to display the Baron's outstanding collection of arts and to entertain the fashionable world. The manor was opened to the general public in 1957 and it is now managed by the Rothschild Foundation. The complex offers visitors a number of options to spend time at the manor: visit its selection of shops, cafés and restaurants, or the woodland playground for kids, explore the house, the gardens, the collections of art or the wine cellars.
The Manor organizes special tours of the house for children aged 8 to 12, with no adults allowed. There are also special programs for schools, various celebration can be held here, including corporate events and weddings. The Five Arrows Hotel offers accommodation in 16 individually designed en-suite rooms. All hotel guests are entitled to a complimentary Grounds ticket to the Waddesdon Manor.
