The American museum of natural history is located next to the Central Park and consists of 25 buildings, in which 46 permanent exhibitions are held. The museum was founded in 1869. There is a planetarium, a huge collection of zoological items, several cafes and a lot of gift shops on the territory of the museum. Visitors can choose an excursion among the following: whales, Theodore Roosevelt, dinosaurs, fossils, the Earth and the Space, Night in the Museum and others. Special programs for families and school groups are also available.

In the Mammal Hall, we were sure that the animals are going to come alive and leave their spots. At the entrance to the museum visitors can see a giant piece of a meteorite, which feels like iron by touch. Huge dinosaurs' skeletons are exhibited on the last floor of the museum.
