The Brooklyn Bridge Park is located in the centre of New York, in the Brooklyn borough, between Atlantic Avenue and Jay Street.
The park is divided into several parts:
- The John Street with a viewing platform up the hill, facing the Manhattan bridge (under construction);
- The Main Street facing the East River. There is also a children playground and a dog walking area in this part of the park;
- The Empire-Fulton Ferry with a picnic zone, old warehouses and a historic carrousel, which is located in a glass pavilion and works all the year round;
- The Pier 1 with the Bargemusic, a children playground, lawns and an open swimming pool;
- The Pier 2 with a tennis-court, sports grounds and a pool;
- The Pier 3 with a kayak rental and a rest area;
- The Pier 4 with a picnic zone and a wharf;
- The Pier 5 with a sports equipment rental, a place for fishing and a wharf for old boats;
- The Pier 6 with a dog walking area and a beach volleyball ground.
There are bikeways, several cafes and restaurants, boat wharfs and snack stands in the park. Yet it is still under construction and new object are appearing.
