In 2016, the 40th Annual Margaret Mead Film Festival will take place at the American Museum of Natural History from October 13th (Thursday) to October 16th (Sunday). With the theme “Re:Frame,” the Festival celebrates the spirit of the legendary Museum anthropologist Margaret Mead. An installation by Samoan artist Dan Taulapapa McMullin, a virtual reality showcase, and a host of new documentary films transport and connect viewers to communities around the world.

In 2016, the festival invites participants to explore the new cultural perspectives while critically examining our own points of view. As always, the Mead will feature intimate conversations with filmmakers and film subjects, as well as the presentation of the annual Margaret Mead Filmmaker Award.

Photos from the American Museum of Natural History, NY, USA (15)

This album contains photos of the the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and it is unlike an ordinary museum. This museum is very kids-friendly and attractive. In the Mammal Hall, we were sure that the animals are going to come alive and leave their spots. At the entrance to the museum visitors can see a giant piece of a meteorite, which feels like iron by touch. Huge dinosaurs' skeletons are exhibited on the last floor of the museum.
