Photo-review of the Intrepid Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York. The museum is actually inside the Intrepid aircraft carrier, moored at Pier 86 in New York City. On a tour of this museum visitors can see war and business aircrafts and helicopters on the open deck (266 meters long and 45 meters wide) of the Intrepid. In other parts of the carrier it is possible to see a shuttle from the Soviet Union and other exhibits.

Visitors are allowed to test their balance on a boat rocking simulator, lay at the berths, and enter the cabin of the rescue helicopter. The Growler submarine is located next to the aircrafts (no additional admission fee). Visitors enter the submarine through a round a trapdoors and walk along the crew's berthings, the cook-house, the captain's bridge and the torpedo room. It is possible to see how the crew had to live in harsh conditions during military campaigns.

The tour is actually really really interesting and informative, and there were many kids present during our visit. The supersonic Concord is also exhibited at the museum, but visitors are not allowed to enter it.
