Photo-review of the Ateneum Art Museum in the center of Helsinki, Finland (49)
Ateneum is located in the very heart of Helsinki, right across from the main railway station. Children under the age of 18 get free entrance to the museum, all premises are stroller accessible, there is a cafe, and a gift shop with some products for kids. Various educational programs for families with children and organized school groups are regularly organized at Ateneum. Some of the paintings on display have kids-friendly versions exhibited alongside the original work of art. These small copies of paintings feature characters, who are familiar to children, and with the help of some text, they explain the meaning of the original paintings even to the youngest of audiences.
