Finnish Science School of Lasten Suomen Tiedekoulu was founded in 2013. It offers out-of-school activities for children aged 4-16, who are interested in science and technology. The school has developed a theme-based curricula in the field of natural sciences, robotics and coding. Each lesson include theory, hands-on-work and reflection of learning. 20 schools around Finland are involved in the programs.
The school strives to foster mutual respect among students and adults. As of January 2018, Finnish Science School functions in the following cities: Helsinki, Turku, Oulu, Espoo, Pori, Tampere, Lahti, Vantaa, Järvenpää, Vihti, Piikkiö, Nokia, Haukipudas. Finnish Science School also organizes science and robotics camps for children aged 7 to 18.
Among the courses offered are:
- Natural science clubs,
- Robotics groups,
- Coding groups and Code coaching,
- Developers and Game programming groups.
