Haukkavuori Observation Tower in Kotka is usually open during the summer months. The peak of the observation tower rises to approximately 72 meters above sea level.
In favorable weather visitors can enjoy the wonderful views over Kotka and the archipelago in the eastern Gulf of Finland. Originally, Haukkavuori tower was built as a water tower, and during the Second World War it was used for monitoring the airspace from its top. It was converted into an observation tower in the 1960s. Exhibitions are held in the tower's former water tank.Photo: https://www.facebook.com/haukkavuorennakotorni.
