The hotel is situated right on the Lammasjärvi lake, its building is designed to look like a huge wooden fortress from the outside, and the interiors of the hotel have been recently refurbished. –Hotel Kalevala– offers accommodation in Classic, Superior, American suite, Honeymoon-suite, Country suite, and there are 8 Family rooms, interconnected through doors. The hotel offers special rooms for disabled and allergy sufferers.

The summer activities offered by the hotel include: bicycling, bear and wildlife watching and photographing, fishing, berry and mushroom picking, hiking, husky trekking. In winter time, such activities as snowmobile safari, Husky safari, ski school, cross country skiing, snow-shoe tours, Nordic walking, swimming at the Pajakkakoski rapid, and ice fishing become available. Playstation, Nintendo and DVDs are available to guests year-round.

The Hotel Kalevala– restaurant serves buffet-style breakfast, has an a la carte menu, and a menu for groups (to be ordered in advance).
