Show on map
JääPuisto or the Ice Park is an outdoor ice skating rink, located in the heart of Helsinki, right next to the central railway station. The rink is open from November until end of March. Kids get tickets at half the price, there is also an equipment rental kiosk, a very limited storage space and a small cafe. The Helsinki Railway Station has lockers for greater storage needs.
All skaters are requested to leave the ice for 10 minutes during ice maintenance sets, which happen every few hours. For safety-reasons, hockey games are forbidden in the Ice Park, however, basic, intermediate or advanced skating lessons are offered.
Skating lessons must be reserved at least a week before the desired time. Group figure skating classes are also held occasionally. On Wednesdays, there are free skating lessons for children aged 4 to 10. On Fridays there is skating with a DJ. On Saturdays there are various family programs, including crafts for children, no pre-registration is required.
