The Kakslauttanen arctic resort was established in 1973, it is a family-run hotel in Finnish Lapland. The complex is located north of the Arctic Circle, along the road to the Arctic Sea, close to the largest national park in Finland. The Sami people have inhabited the region for over a century.
The nearest international airport is Ivalo (it is a 30 minutes drive away). The hotel is said to be surrounded by some of the world's cleanest nature. Kakslauttanen is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights, there are over 65 glass igloos that are perfect for viewing them. Various family celebrations (including wedding ceremonies) can be held at the hotel.
There are two receptions with two restaurants at Kakslauttanen. The resort's most popular accommodation units are:

- kelo-glass igloos.
