The Koli National Park in North Karelia is famous for the Koli mount, located in its center. The park has two skiing resorts: Loma-Koli (better equipped for family skiing) and Ukko-Koli. The park has a number of trails of various lengths, which can be walked on in showshoes in winter or on horseback in summer; there are picnic zones with campfires and bio toilets, bike trails, and the Pielinen lake offers canoe and kayak routes with equipped camp sites. The Koli National Park has over 80 km of walking trails of various difficulty levels, fro 1.5 to 60 km long.
Lodging in hotel rooms and cottages is available around the park, and in the park there are some forest huts, which can be rented overnight for a moderate fee.
