The Langinkoski Imperial Fishing Lodge is the place in Kotka where Alexander III used to spend summer time with his family. The Lodge was built for the Emperor in 1889 on the estuary of the River Kymijoki. Now it is the only historical object of its kind that was preserved outside Russia.
Guests can learn about the history of fishing lodge, visit the nature reserve surrounding the lodge, an orthodox chapel, a fishermen's house and a summer cafe pavilion. The territory surrounding the Lodge was announced to be a reserve in the middle of the 20th century. Now it is a 28 hectare area.
Guests can explore the museum on their own or under the guidance of a role guide. Exhibitions and concerts are also held at the museum. Amateur fishing is allowed in Langinkoski.
