The Lemmenjoki National Park is located in Northern Finland, just 50 km from Inari (a center of Sami culture). The park was founded in 1956, it is among the largest national parks in Europe, and the largest in Finland.
The park has over 60 km of marked walking trails, which can be explored by visitors on their own or with a guide. The park offers free overnight accommodation in one of the public forest huts, visitors can also stay in their own tents in the specially designated campgrounds with prepared firewood and bio-toilets. The forest huts can be rented, and in the surrounding villages and Inari, visitors can stay in hotels or cottages. The park is a home to birds, deer, wolverines, wolves and bears. In the summer, visitors can go on a gold hunt, canoeing and whitewater rafting, fishing (licence is required), pick mushrooms and berries.Photo: https://www.luontoon.fi/fi/kohteet/lemmenjoen-kansallispuisto/aktiviteetit-ja-reitit/retkeily-ja-ulkoilu.
