The Linnansaari National Park, Linnansaaren kansallispuisto, Finland

The Linnansaari National Park is located in the middle of the Haukivesi lake, a part of the Saimaa lake, which takes up 96 sq. km of territory. The main island has an old farm, where still to this day, practices the slash-and-burn agriculture method, in order to preserve this old forms of culture.

The park can be explored on a boat, canoe, or kayak. In the winter, it is possible to travel between the islands on cross-country skies or ice skates. Group tours and special excursions can be organized. Most tours start at the Sammakkoniemi camping.
