The Militaria Military History Museum opened in 2013, bringing together under one roof three museums - the Museum of Artillery, the Museum of Engineering Troops, and the Museum of Military Communications. The museum's collection also covers the history of the development of the Finnish army, including the Winter War of 1939-1940, the Soviet-Finnish War of 1941-1944, and the pivotal figures of Marshal Mannerheim and the Commander-in-Chief of the artillery troops - General Nononen. It is worth noting that both generals received military education in the Russian Empire.
Part of the exposition (guns and heavy engineering equipment) is outside, in the open air. The museum also regularly hosts temporary exhibitions. On request, guided tours are available in Finnish, Swedish or English. The museum has conference halls and auditoriums (which can be rented for private events), a shop (which sells books, souvenirs and documentaries), a movie theater, and the Lounasravintola Militaria restaurant.
