On this very spot, the Swedish King Gustav Vasa established the Svartå Iron Works in 1560. Although iron production ceased in 1901, industrial activities have continued, making Svartå the oldest industrial site in Finland. The Mustio Manor, also known as Mustion Linna or Svartå is situated in about 80 km west of Helsinki.

Today the manor houses a museum, one of Finland's biggest private historical parks, a hotel with conference facilities and sauna, and the Slottskrogen restaurant. The Slottskrogen restaurant is located in a former coach house built in the middle of 1800’s, it has brick walls, a huge fireplace, and rough iron chandeliers. The restaurant and hotel are open from autumn to spring only during event days. During summer the restaurant offers three course lunches and dinners.

The countryside Mustio Manor hotel occupies five different historical buildings situated in the park with a river. There are 30 double rooms, eight single rooms and one suite to chose from. The Svartå Manor regularly hosts various events for families with children.
