The Oulanka National Park is located in Northern Finland, not far from the airport of Kuusamo and the Ruka skiing resort. The park offers views of rapids, waterfalls, rocks and cliffs, the Oulanka River canyon, various endangered species of plants and birds. The park occupies a territory of 270 sq. km, there are hiking trails available, from short 1.5 km trails to the Bear Circle (Karhunkierros) 80 km long. All trails are marked. The Könkään kuohu trail is good for young children and disabled persons, which has 7 entrances to the route.
The park has forest huts, which can be used to spend the night at no additional charge. Camp grounds have equipped campfire sites with harvested wood and bio toilets. There is also a fully equipped camping at the park.
The Oulanka National Park offers kayaking and rafting for the whole family. In the winter - crosscountry skiing trails and trails for snowshoes. Visitors can also go hiking with huskies, pick berries and mushrooms, go fishing (a licence is required).
