The Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is the third largest national park in Finland, it occupies 1020 sq. km of territory. Most of it is covered with forests, marshes and heights.

The park has approximately 350 marked walking trails, more than 500 km of cross-country skiing trails, a number of biking routes, and trails for snow-shoes walking.
