The territory of the Pyhä-Luosto National Park is 142 sq. km. The layout of the park is dominated by 12 hills (heights), which are really remnants of an ancient mountain ridge, with the highest points being mount Noitatunturi (540 meters) and mount Ukko-Luosto (514 meters).
The Pyhä and Luosto ski resorts offer over 150 km of cross-country skiing trails, snowshoe tours, bike trails, as well as bird watching towers. There are also reindeer and husky centers at the park, which offers various tours and safaries.
The park offers the possibility to stay in forest huts overnight, there are a number of camping grounds equipped with bio toilets and campfire sites. There are public cottages with wood burning and gas stoves, which can be used for free overnight stays. There are also cottages available for rent.
