The Söderskär Lighthouse is situated on an island of the outer archipelago of Porvoo, in 25 kilometers from Helsinki city center. It can be reached only by ferry during the navigation season - from May to September. The lighthouse was built nearly 150 years ago, and its fate is a reflection of the history of this place.
Guests can join a group guided tour to the lighthouse, buy souvenirs, try northern dishes in a local café and relax in the sauna. It's possible to book a tiny room in the lighthouse itself, or in one of the houses, and stay here overnight. In addition, tourists have the opportunity to see rare species of birds that live on the island.
