Show on map
Tennispalatsi or the Tennis Palace was built for the 1940 Summer Olympics and initially actually housed tennis courts. After reconstruction, Tennispalatsi was turned into an enclosed cultural and recreational center in Kamppi, in the center of Helsinki. Today, Tennispalatsi houses the most modern and sophisticated Finnkino multiplex movie theatre, the Helsinki City Art Museum, the Museum of Cultures, as well as small shops and cafes.
Finnkino usually opens at 10:00 and closes at around 21:00 on weekdays and at around 23:00 on weekends.
The Helsinki Art Museum (or HAM) oversees a collection of over 9 000 works of art. A large portion of these works are on display in other public spaces such as parks, streets, offices, health centres, schools and libraries.
