Tremanskärr nature trail, Tremanskärrin luontopolku and Kalajärvi ski track in Espoo 124
Tremanskärrin luontopolku or the Tremanskärr nature trail is a walking trail in Northern Espoo. In winter the area turns into the Kalajärvi ski track, which is equipped with lights. The nature trail is 2.5 km long and parts of it track over duck boards.
The trail runs largely in a nature reserve and the area is characterised by rocky forests with spruce valleys, bogs, and the Kurkijärvi forest pond. All along the trail visitors will find information boards presenting the plants and animals of the area. There is a picnic table situated on the high bank of the Kurkijärvi lake.
Parts of the trail run on the well groomed ski track bed, two segments run on duck boards, and some other trail portions cover a challenging terrain with rocks, roots, and steep inclines, so it is not accessible with strollers in its entirety. The trail is slippery in damp condition. Nonetheless, it makes for a wonderful hiking opportunity for families with children.
The Tremanskärr nature trail has a small free parking lot, and some outdoor gym equipment can be found at the start of the trail. Additionally, a connecting walking route links the trail to the nearby Serena Ski and Water Park.
