The Castle of Turku was built in the 13th century, when Finland was a part of Sweden (the Abo Castle is its Swedish name).
The permanent exhibition of the museum shows the history of the castle beginning from the 13th century up to nowadays. There are wax figures, a court in miniature and hundreds of old artifacts among the exhibits.
During excursions visitors can learn about the castle elf's treasures and about king Eric's catacomb. There is a link to the audio guide in Russian on the website of the museum. Excursions are available in Finnish, Swedish, English and in Russian.
On the Initiation to the young Knights excursion children look for "treasures", hidden in the castle. The ceremony takes place in the Knights hall, where children and adults can try medieval costumes.

There is also a cafe and a souvenir shop in the museum.
The museum is closed on National holidays. Admission is free for children under 7.
