The Tykkimaki adventure park in Kouvola: rides, waterpark, camping in Kouvola, Finland

The Tykkimaki adventure park in Kouvola is the third largest in Finland, following Linnanmaki in Helsinki and Sarkanniemi in Tampere. This adventure and water park is the closest in Finland to the Russian boarder. The park offers over 40 attractions: a sky wheel, rides, trains, the Starflyer swing (70 meters tall). There are special rides for young kids in the Mykkelis Makkelis pavilion. Since the summer of 2014 there is an open air water park with 5 slides and 3 pools (a play pool for kids, a pool 20 centimeters deep with underwater current and a swimming pool 15 by 25 meters and 1.3 meters deep).

There is open air music and live performances in the summer. At the entrance to the park it is possible to borrow a strawler for small kids free of charge, there is also a changing room equipped with a microwave. Lodging is available at the Tykkimaki camping, there are cottages, a campground with showers, rest rooms, also saunas a access to the beach, a mini-golf and basketball, badminton, floor-ball, tennis and beach volley-ball fields, also boat and canoe rentals.
