Picture Story: the Museum of Technology in Helsinki in photographs, Finland
We visited the Museum of Technology in Helsinki in October 2017 and took some pictures of the new exhibition there. The museum is located on an island, formed by two branches of the Vantaa river. The river has a stony riverbed and when the water is high and the dam is open - the rapids make quite a view. It is a nice place for a family walk.
The museum itself has a lot of interactive exhibits, where kids can turn the wheel and make an electric train run, check if they know how to sort waste correctly, learn to send messages via the Morse code, connect an electric circuit, run Finland's oldest working elevator with the touch of a button and see how its engine works. A lot of technology is explained in pictures, real objects and words. All descriptions are given in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English.
