The Australian Museum is the country's first museum, which is famous for its natural science and anthropological collections and research. The exposition contains over 21 million scientific specimens and cultural objects. Here visitors can see the skeletons of animals that died out thousands of years ago, study the fauna of modern Australia, and also learn the secrets of human body.
In 2019-2020, the museum is closed for reconstruction. Opening is expected during 2020.
