Savonlinna Opera Festival 2016, Finland

From July 8th to August 6th 2016 the annual International Opera Festival will be held in Savonlinna. All performances will be shown in the medieval castle Olavinlinna, and the Italian opera is chosen as the main topic of the new season.

 
Guests will be able to see three operas by Giuseppe Verdi, based on the plays of William Shakespeare - "Othello," "Macbeth" and "Falstaff." The program also includes "La Boheme" by Giacomo Puccini, "Norma" by Vincenzo Bellini and "Don Juan" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In addition, the festival will introduce the opera of its own production - "From the House of the Dead" by Leos Janacek.
