The Ku-ring-gai National Park is a place for family picnics, cycling and school excursions. In spring, wildflowers bloom here, and fishermen gather in the park in summer. The park is home to the Barrenjoey Lighthouse: there is a spot for whale watching in winter. The International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend is celebrated in August.
